About Me.

Hi, I’m Sophie Verrillo — a London-based Brand Identity & Visual Designer with a background in broadcast design and a focus on thoughtful, purposeful visual work.

I spent over 15 years in the TV industry, including serving as Design Manager at Discovery Networks UK & EMEA, where I developed branding, motion graphics, and visual identities for on-air campaigns, title sequences, and channel presentation across multiple channels and programmes. I’m an ideas-driven designer, with a strong focus on concept development and translating ideas into clear, engaging visual systems.

My work spans brand identity, print, digital, and motion. I primarily work in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and After Effects, with experience in Cinema 4D. Selected motion and 3D projects include Discovery Channel title sequences (Made in Sweden), channel bumpers, and National Science & Engineering Week campaigns.

After taking time out to raise my children, I continued to work independently on branding and design projects — and channelled the same design sensibility into renovating our period home (though I still prefer painting pictures to walls).

Alongside freelance design, I currently work part-time in a school supporting SEN children, where my design and visual skills are regularly applied to internal communications, certificates, posters, and small campaigns. This role has strengthened my communication skills and reinforced the value of clear, thoughtful design in everyday contexts.

Design — in all its forms — has always been my passion. I’m motivated by creating brand identities and visual systems that feel considered, distinctive, and built to last.
