About Me.
Hi, I’m Sophie Verrillo — a London-based branding designer with a background in broadcast design and a love for thoughtful, purposeful creativity.

I spent 15 years in the TV industry, including serving as Design Manager at Discovery Networks UK & EMEA, where I developed branding, motion graphics and visual identities for on-air campaigns, title sequences and channel bumpers. I’m very much an ideas-driven designer — I thrive on concept development and turning ideas into visual stories. I primarily work in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects, with some experience in Cinema 4D. Notable 3D projects include Discovery Channel title sequences (“Made in Sweden”), channel bumpers, and National Science & Engineering Week campaigns.

After taking time out to raise my children, I continued freelancing on branding projects — and channelled my design sensibilities into renovating our period home (though I still prefer painting pictures to walls!).

Today, I balance branding work with a part-time role as a teaching assistant supporting SEN children. My creative and illustrative skills are regularly used within the school — producing certificates, posters and small internal campaigns — allowing me to apply design in meaningful, real-world contexts.

Design — in all its forms — has always been my passion. I love creating brands that feel considered, distinctive and beautiful.
